Comparison

Get Repair vs RepairShopr

RepairShopr (now Syncro) has been around. They were one of the first ticketing systems built for repair shops, and a lot of single-location stores got their start on it. We respect that. But the platform is older than most of its modules, and the all-in-one bundle skews IT/MSP — which means a phone shop ends up paying for hooks it'll never use.

If you're an MSP-leaning shop with billing-heavy workflows and you want the maturity of a 10+ year platform, RepairShopr is a fair pick. If you're a counter-first repair shop on Square or Shopify who wants the UI to feel like it was designed this decade, keep reading.

Where they win

Where RepairShopr wins

  • Deeper MSP and managed-services features (recurring billing for IT contracts, asset monitoring hooks).
  • Larger third-party app marketplace built up over years.
  • More mature integrations with QuickBooks Online for accountant-heavy shops.
  • Brand recognition. A lot of forums still default to RepairShopr in answers.

Where we win

Where Get Repair wins

  • UI built in 2025, not 2014. Tickets render in under 200ms instead of a full page refresh.
  • Native Square POS sync — not a webhook bridge. Inventory, taxes, and payments move in one direction without reconciliation pain.
  • Embeddable intake form on your domain (repairs.yourshop.com). RepairShopr forces a hosted widget with their branding.
  • Per-store SMTP. Invoices and quotes leave from billing@yourshop.com — not via @repairshopr.com mail relays.
  • Customer portal on every plan. Not gated behind an upcharge.
  • Month-to-month with a public changelog. Export everything. No contract.
  • PIN-gated RBAC across 17+ modules out of the box. RepairShopr defaults to looser roles.

Migration

About switching from RepairShopr

Migrating from RepairShopr is something we've done. We import customers, tickets, inventory, and historical estimates from a standard CSV export. Plan a weekend; you'll be live by Monday.

Frequently asked

Is Get Repair cheaper than RepairShopr?

On comparable plans, yes — but more importantly, we don't gate the Customer Portal behind a higher tier. RepairShopr's published pricing lists the Portal as a paid add-on; ours is included on every plan from day one.

Can I keep my existing Square account?

Yes. Get Repair was built around Square as the POS source-of-truth. You connect your existing Square location and we sync inventory, payments, and taxes both directions. RepairShopr ships its own POS that can conflict if you keep Square running in parallel.

How do I migrate from RepairShopr to Get Repair?

Export your customers, tickets, inventory, and estimates from RepairShopr as CSV (Settings → Data Export). Send the files to migration@getrepair.co. A real person maps the fields, does a test import, and you sign off before we go live. Most shops migrate in 2–3 business days. The first month is free if we miss our 24-hour reply SLA at any step.

Will I lose ticket history when I switch?

No. Historical tickets import with their original ticket numbers, status, devices, photos (if hosted in RepairShopr), and customer references intact. You keep the audit trail.

Does Get Repair support MSP-style recurring billing?

We do recurring invoices and saved payment methods. We don't do contract billing at the depth Syncro/RepairShopr does for managed-services agencies. If recurring contract billing is your primary revenue driver, RepairShopr is still likely the better tool.
